Often major economic shifts are so gradual asto be indistinguishable at first from ordinary fluctuations in thefinancial markets.

A. so gradual as to beindistinguishable

B. so gradual so that theycan be indistinguishable

C. so gradual that they areunable to be distinguished

D. gradual enough not to bedistinguishable (A)

E. gradual enough so thatone cannot distinguish them

08中的答案是选A，但我选的是D。按照OG13的标准，大家会选哪个呢？？
我的判断标准是 a, so... as to ... is not a correct idiom；b,indistinguishable 不如 not to be distinguishable表达清楚直接

I think enough not to is not correct; the question should read "Often major economic shifts are not gradual enough to be ..."
There is a different in meaning between so ...as and enough to ..

X enough to Y is used when the emphasis is on Y. "So X as to Y" is used when the emphasis is on X

1. "I am tall enough to touch the ceiling" implies that the focus is on the fact of being able to touch the ceiling.
2." I am so tall as to be able to touch the ceiling" implies that the focus is on the fact of being tall

我仔细思索了一下D，也搜了一些资料，发现D的问题的确是在enough not to上，这个用法也是unidiomatic的，应该改成 economic shifts are too gradual to be distinguishable at first....

谢谢对enough和so...as to...的解释，的确两个短语是有重心的不同，但如以OG13的标准来看，so...as to...已经被ETS摒弃（诸如此类的例子还有in that）

没错，enough not to这个Ron是提到是unidiomatic，不过貌似他不确认，并未列举例子

我正在想C选项有什么不对，难道只是因为不简洁？

A是正确答案,因为so..as to表示太...以致于....,
B不对是因为so..so that..这个用法不对,
C be able to do不用被动语态,所以be able to be done,一定是错的,
D adj enough not to...是很奇怪的表达,我一般看到adj+enough表达就不选了
E enough so奇怪的表达,不对.

adj + enough + to do 有很多正确的例子哦，建议不要看到enough就不选，还是要仔细斟酌一下
