197. (GWD-1-Q16) Soaring television costsaccounted for more than half the spending in the presidential campaign of 1992,
a greater proportion than in any previous election.

这边的 a greater proportion than in any previous election.为什么不写成 than that in any previous election 或者 than is in any previous election ? 毕竟比较对象是proportion，
记得有一题说XX at higher speeds than currently possible 是错的，要改成 than those currently possible，或者 than are currently possible. 因为比较对象是speeds。

混乱中求大神赐教！！

这是今次语法JJ里面关于比较的语法点的总结段里面的一个例子，作为一个正确的句子，不是太理解..

建议去看看论坛里面的那个比较的帖子，会有不少收获的。

Soaring television costs accounted for more than half the spending in the presidential campaign of 1992,
a greater proportion than in any previous election.

这里比较的是在 in the presidential campaign of 1992 和 in any previous election 之间的 proportion。
两个都是介词短语，直接比较既可以。

至于“记得有一题说XX at higher speeds than currently possible 是错的，要改成 than those currently possible，或者 than are currently possible. 因为比较对象是speeds。”

我猜测是主句没有和currently对应的时间副词，所以than currently是不行的。

原来比较的是介词短语。。。艾玛一直没参透。。。谢谢楼上亲们解答
