我理解天下乌鸦一般黑老鼠的儿子会打洞所以叫：have had a number of important features in common 就可以weaken啦

题目有三元素：1：modern-day societies of foragers 2：ancient ancestors foragers 3：modern, non-forager societies
题干意思：科学家通过研究1了解2，有人批评因为1和3有联系，所以不能通过1了解2
A选项指出1和2的必然联系，所以这种研究方法是正确的，削弱了题干中的批评声音

“天下乌鸦一般黑老鼠的儿子会打洞”指的就是古代与现代的必然联系啦！
