GWD给出的答案是A。我自己选的是C。

我至今仍在A和C上纠结。

我觉得C是错的。因为，首先，被动语态很奇怪。其次，not.....but...的句型很奇怪。
一般用法是，did not reveal underlying simplicity but reveal great complexity....好像有点重复，但是，否定句一般都是用助动词+not表否定吧，就像我直接说，It revealed not the simplicity, 不如, It did not reveal the simplicity
