Use this as a reference but NOT a template. Your actual communication can be very different both in content and in wording. Also, it is always a good idea to keep an email concise and precise.

陶瓷这种讲法我本身就不是很赞同。就像你和自己的朋友交流一样，和教授交流也要真诚，用自己的诚意和实力打动教授，而不是好像下一个套。
