79. When demand for a factory’s products is high, more money is spent at the factory for safety precautions and machinery maintenance than when demand is low. Thus the average number of on-the-job accidents per employee each month should be lower during periods when demand is high than when demand is low and less money is available for safety precautions and machinery maintenance.

Which of the following, if true about a factory when demand for its products is high, casts the most serious doubt on the conclusion drawn above?

(A) Its employees ask for higher wages than they do at other times.

(B) Its management hires new workers but lacks the time to train them properly.

(C) Its employees are less likely to lose their jobs than they are at other times.

(D) Its management sponsors a monthly safety award for each division in the factory.

(E) Its old machinery is replaced with modern, automated models.

其中D选项之所以错误，OG解释为工作稳定性只会增加工人数，从而提高总事故时间，而不是人均事故。但是工作稳定性增加会不会导致工人干活没那么认真，从而导致人均事故上升呢。（因为不担心失去工作）。请问我这个逻辑，是不是有什么问题。

事实：当产品需求高时+对安全和维护投入大。结论：人均每月事故数低。（与需求低，对安全维护投入少的时候相比）。要cast double结论，即前提无法得出结论。明显的发现人均这个词很关键，为每月总事故数除以人数，题中恰恰没提到人数是否变化的问题，gap就在这里。所以答案要与人数相关。D：对每个部门发起安全奖励，与人数无关。选项意义从表面理解即可。OG的答案毕竟是外国人思路，当实在无法理解时，可以不深究。

你自己添加了一个逻辑“工作稳定性增加会不会导致工人干活没那么认真，从而导致人均事故上升”，这是从文中找不到的。
而且，D选项的解释有问题。因为D实际上是加强结论，而不是削弱。因为工人们有了“安全奖励”的刺激，所以他们应该会更加注意安全问题。
做CR的时候，要根据原文的意思，不要自己进行过多的推测。

但是原文最后提到了less money will be available，我做题的时候想的就是削弱这个结论，以至于选了D，请问为什么less money 跟fewer accidents per employee都在结论中提到了，却只是削弱后者而忽略前者呢？

削弱要找主干削弱，状语是限定主干用的。就说句子里边也是有逻辑的
比如，两点半时候，我回帖说错了。讨论的是对错
强调的是“我回帖说错了”，而两点半是限定这个时点用的。表明我3点钟说的话就不在讨论范围了。
再换种说法。我回帖说错的时候，时间是两点半。讨论的是时间

囧，回错楼层了。果然大半夜容易犯错

请问黄色这个是什么意思啊，有点晕了，是说预防安全和维修所需的钱少了么？

available这里不是需要的意思，而是所提供的意思

我觉得这里重点是钱少了，所以只要理解到钱少了也就不影响做题就好了，不用过度关注句子中不熟悉词的意思，不然影响效率的~

请问为什么钱会少啊，前面不是说当demand is high more money is spent at the factory for safety precautions and machinery maintenance吗

我就是一直不理解这里，前面说花的钱会多后面说花的钱会少是什么意思

因为对产品的需求少了，所以维护设备的钱也会少，文中有提到
