标题: 副词修饰的对象
在白勇的语法全解P231页上，有这么一道题：

A collection of 38 poems by Phillis Wheatley, a slave, was published in the 1770's, the first book by a Black woman and it was only the second published by an American woman.

A. it was only the second published by an American woman.
B. it was only the second that an American published
C. the second one only published by an American woman
D. the second one only that an American woman published
E. only the second published by an American woman.

根据and 前后并列项结构要对称的原则，我可以很轻松地排除A.和B，但是请问CDE三个选项之间应该怎么选择呢？我不大明白CDE三个选项中，only各修饰什么？
答案是选择E。

平行是个筐。什么都能装，我觉得尽量少用平行这种思路。这题和平行也没啥关系，也挨不着only什么事

only修饰后面的成分
在C就是verb，在D就是clause

to be more simple

I only kiss u （not beat or eat）
I kiss only u （not kate or tom or other people）

所以原选项only限定the second是合理的，不需要去改变

BTW，白勇语法很旧了，不建议作为复习资料

谢谢版主。解释得很清楚，我完全明白了。大家都说白勇语法很旧，也包括2012版的吗？我做的是2012版的白勇语法，版主也不建议做吗？

你的OG+prep过的滚瓜烂熟的话SC基本就是没有问题啊。。

缘何还要做非官方材料。。。
