Rather, such a judgment means that the test has failed to show whether the examinee was truthful or untruthful. Nevertheless, employers will sometimes refuse to hire a job applicant because of an inconclusive polygraph test result.
Which of the following conclusions can most properly be drawn from the information above?
(A) Most examinees with inconclusive polygraph test results are in fact untruthful.
(B) Polygraph tests should not be used by employers in the consideration of job applicants.
(C) An inconclusive polygraph test result is sometimes unfairly held against the examinee.
(D) A polygraph test indicating that an examinee is untruthful can sometimes be mistaken.
(E) Some employers have refused to consider the results of polygraph tests when evaluating job applicants.
答案是C。我选的A 理解就是 Most examinees with inconclusive polygraph test results 实际上就是untruthful
OG上的解释说是contradicted in the passage。。但我最多也只能说服自己 因为有了A才有employers refuse to hire a job applicant who has an inconclusive polygraph test result

这一题的类型是Draw a conclusion.
Premise1: Inconclusive test has no reflection on the examinee.
Premise2: Test fail to show whether examinee was truthful or untruthful.
Premise3: Employer use inconclusive result to refuse applicant.
Question: Draw a conclusion.
A. Most examinees with inconclusive polygraph test results are in fact untruthful. 原文中的premise 2是test fails to show whether examinee was truthful or not (不确定的测试结果不能说明测试者是否是诚实的), 所以我们不能推断出测试者实际的情况是怎样。
C. An inconclusive polygraph test result is sometimes unfairly held against the examinee.
你的思路是有了A才推出employers refuse to hire a job applicant... 实际上你认为的结论是我们的条件。而我们要找的是通过这个条件推出的结论。~~作者: 258828632 时间: 2013-4-21 12:38
