Hello there, and thanks for dropping by,
You can apply to an MBA after you have gained at least three years of experience in trading. So you'd need at least two more years, and hopefully they will be strong years in which you have gained a lot of strong experience, and hopefully a promotion or two. You can apply for any MBA you like with your background, although it would make sense to apply to school's who have some finance strengths as this is your main focus.
If, on the other hand you are applying to MFE program, you can do so in less time. Two years of experience would really be enough. I can't really tell you which would be your choice, because it depends on your specific goals. And actually for many people with finance goals, either the MFE or the MBA can be good for you. I would say that the best way to find out is to look at resumes of people who hold your target jobs in your target employers. For example the fund managers at the firm's you are looking at - what sort of degree did they get? Where did they graduate from?? etc.
In general also keep in mind the differences between the MBA and MFE - the MBA's focus is on management and it is thus a more well-rounded program, whereas the MFE is more "technically" oriented. Both are great, but you should choose the one that fits best with your character and your specific goals.
Hope this helps!!!
