Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refi ners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were last year.

(A) Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were
(B) Heating-oil prices are expected to rise higher this year over last because refiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than they did
(C) Expectations are for heating-oil prices to be higher this year than last year’s because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than they did
(D) It is the expectation that heating-oil prices will be higher for this year over last because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil now than what they were
(E) It is expected that heating-oil prices will rise higher this year than last year’s because refiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than they did

这道题好不容易把其他的点想明白了这个比较的省略问题实在是想不明白啊

manhattan上面说只要没歧义想怎么省就怎么省可我每次都要想好久好久也确定不了到底有没有歧义平不平行补足也是要想好久也不知道补对了没

比如这里 A选项还原是Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than (they were expected to be) last (year) 吗？那就不是像OG解释里说的 this year's 和 last year's heating-oil prices 在比啊是两个的期望值在比？

还有如果A选项改为Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last year’s (prices were expected to be) 不也可以吗？为什么要说是拿 this year 和 last year's 在比呢？？？

求NN 指导啊！！！！！！

说下个人观点，不对的，咱们再讨论：）
1，题中的确比较的是this year 与last year
2，Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last (year)
3，heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year，不正是说明的是今年的油价么？然后要跟last year比，2中的结构刚好符合了1的要求，this year与last year比
4，换成last year's的话，不行的；改后的比较对象成了Heating-oil prices与last year's进行比较了

谢谢谢谢！我昨天又想了想跟你想的好像差不多你看这么理解行不行

A选项完全补足应该是Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than (they were) last (year) 意思是今年的油价（被期望）比去年的油价高是拿两个油价在比只是第一个有个be expected to be 修饰着

若改成last year's 的话就变成Heating-oil prices和last year's 在比 ambiguous且awkward 感觉last year's后头没东西了似的 this year 在前半句中只是状语与后半句的这个 last year's没关系！

啊哈哈~~写出来感觉更明白啦~
