曼给的答案是The CEO earns twice as much as the average employee at this company.

我当时修改的是The CEO earns twice greater than the average employee at this company.

我注意到Manhattan中有提到：
the words high and low, as well as higher and lower, should only be used as adjectives.
我在词典中发现 greater 的词性也只有 adj.

而原句The CEO earns higher中，higher不能作为adv.修饰动词。
因此很可能 higher和greater都是犯了同一种错误。

至于这一题，我提出两个其他的修改，大家来讨论下对不对。

More可以有n. adj. abv. 三种词性，
或许这句话可以改写为
The CEO earns twice more than the average employee at this company.

至于greater：We use “greater” when the noun in question is a number.
那也就是要写成
The pay of CEO is twice greater than that of employee on average at this company.

我觉的第二句是对的，greater做形容词修饰pay
The pay of CEO is twice greater than that of employee on average at this company.
第一句不清楚，希望有牛人来解答。
