Then, limited job opportunities are far from enough to the increasingnumber of college students, which is an unwilling result to the whole society. So it seems wise for college students to base their choice of a field of studyon the availability of jobs in that field, and even their parents who wishtheir kids' lives more smooth and their teachers wish the employment rate ofthe college seeming more wonderful encourage them to do so. But I consider thatcollege students should base their choice of field of study on their interest.
Apparently, practical considerations often play asignificant role in a field choice for many reasons. For example, a responsibleman would consider the future housing loan, the insurance of the car, medicaland home spends, which he or she would face soon after leaving college. So,those who choose a field of study base on the availability of jobs in thatfield will get more useful skills in the college which would be helpful totheir future work. When they are finding the job, these students will have morechance to get into a major company and have a high income.
However, the actual fact will be always unpredictable. If the field one choose is just he or she is interested in, then the resultwill be fine. But if it is not the case, people will feel tired with the contentof their work after several years, and they will encounter many obstacles inthe life and work, because what they are doing is not they are interested. BillGates chose the field he was interested in, computer software programing, so hekept energy in his work and formed the Microsoft company, he let MS-DOS, andWindows enter thousands of personal homes and corporations, which lead to hugeimprovement of work efficiency. Can we think what will happen if Bill chose thefinance or accounting field in the college? Kobe Bryant chose his interesting –basketball in the school, though in his first season appearances are verylittle and he only earned few money when the start of the basketball career, but it is his favorite interesting to play basketball, after his effort and wonderfulperformance , he won what he should win. We can not image when in the college Kobechose computer science as his study field.
Interest is the best teacher. College is animportant place for students to cultivate their interests. They should get gooduse of the resource to find out what else they are interested in and develop them. Then they should base their choice of a field of study on these interests. Onlyin this case, can they keep energetic work situation all the time and producemore excellent fruits for their own lives which will also helpful to otherpeople. And only in this case, can the colleges and universities play a realrole to let our life own meaningful significance.(523)作者: 竹林中人 时间: 2013-3-21 09:51
address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position,这点我觉得你写的还不够到位,你只说了兴趣的好处,但同时你需要注意到可能的不好,比如很多对文学或者艺术感兴趣的同学毕业后短时间内难以实现自己的梦想,只能从事其他的行业,能使自己生存下去作者: 普渡哥 时间: 2013-3-21 10:20
作者没有考虑到大家都考虑兴趣选择方向存在的现实问题。科比和盖茨这是两个特例,作者在用两个特例来证明一个普遍真理,这本身就是个典型的逻辑错误。
