Spot the question type: Method of reasoning

C: If F was ahead in understanding the industrialization was talking an unconscionable toll on the family structure of the working class, F must be a great writer.

A: If the mark is the ability to move people with the power of the written word but not to be among the first to grasp a social issue, F must not be a great writer. Beside, the social consequences of industrialization were widely understood in F's day.

*A undermine C's conclusion by offering other criteria as the sufficient condition to support A's conclusion, and also by attacking C's premise to indicate that the premise is not true.

let us dive into the answer.

A. No she does not accept C's criterion

B. she did discredit C's evidence and then offering new conclusion from new evidence, but we are not sure if she generalizes ( Contender )

C. She did reject the criterion and also disputes a specific claim ( looked good, contender )

D. She did dispute C's conclusion by presenting an alternative criterion as " the support " for new conclusion

E. She did not criticize the structure of the argument, and C only does have one claim.

Ok, let us go back to B, She does not generalize from new evidence; instead, she counter the claim by offering new evidence to establish a new claim, which is opposite of the claim from C.

C is the best answer.
