选D吗？ indicate后面用从句，清晰明了。indicating = that indicate。其他的选项根本就读不通吧。。indicative of 这种句式会掩盖后面句子的逻辑关系， PREP破解讲过很多次。 C中后面的that指代不清，when 和 to是错的。

我也觉得选D 我今晚刷OG有道题正好也有这个考点 OG上的解释是 The -ing form of a verb can be used as a noun,but it is often awkward, particularly when used with a posessive. Substituting the noun for the gerund eliminates the problem.所以DE 要比A好 B的indicative of 后面的核心是a child 而这个题的重点是a child做的一系列的事情 比如acquisition of language....所以B也不好E也不太好 根据manhattan上的VAN原则 动词好于形容词也可以同理排除 剩下C和D 我觉得C和awkward 什么that it is that when 而D改正了错误 并且indicating伴随状语跟hosted同时发生 后面用that表达了indicate的具体内容 很clear 而且也避免了gerund,that从句也主谓一致 所以正确答案是D
