我选C，正确答案A，解释是Although typically introduces a subordinate clause, which has a subject and a verb, but here there is no subject and sighted is not a complete verb.

求大神分析一下上题C选项和下题E选项有毛线区别。。。跪谢！

亲，although后面可以接adj成分的，前提是时态必须和主句一致。
这两天的句式都没有问题，第一题错在时态上，完成时的意味丢掉了哈。

我记得当初自己也在这纠结了N久，结果发帖问到最后也没有弄的特别清楚。不过现在回头看看已经差不多理解了OG的意思。首先，不知道LZ知不知道状语从句省略这回事。如果不知道可以看prep2008，上面说的很清楚，简单的说就是表达转折/时间/让步的连词，在从句的主语还是主句主语，且从句的动词时be动词的时候可以一起省略主语和be动词，变成连词+ving/ved/adj的形式
然后再看这两道题。首先看第二道，这道题和OG上一道题其实是一样的，Though called a sea, the landlocked Caspian is
actually the largest lake on Earth, covering....
简化这两个结构就是：Although/Though ved/ving/adj,SVO或者S,although/though ved/ving/adj, VO.
这里为什么可以省略呢，是因为修饰S的时候不可能有歧义，它不可能修饰O或者其它的noun。
但是看第一道题，这道题C的结构是SVO+although/though ved/ving/adj，这里修饰是很容易引起歧义的，因为它离O更近，所以这也是为什么OG上认为当although,though放在后面引出从句时必须有自己的主语和动词的原因~

简单的说一下，尽管用了Although但36题Although eradicated in the United States，仍然只是状语，并不是完整的从句。它的形式与Ving或ved作状语的形式一样。并与主句间用逗号隔开。

但17的C选项，主句后没有逗号作隔离，直接用连词Although，所以在形式上必须要跟一个完整的从句，否则缺少be 动词形式的sighted 完全可以被认为是在修饰dark spots ，这与句子意思不符。

这里我强调一下，17 题的although使得句子的逻辑关系有些混乱，我个人认为这是C和D最先被排除的关键。
