1、a venomous snake was designated the emblem of the rebellion by the insurgency（M5.SC P49第3小题）这话啥意思咧？
2、A new textbook 【focused on recent advances in artificial intelligence】 was assigned by our instructor.
括弧部分应该是定语从句部分吧？那么引导词在定从中做主语不是不可以省略的么？个人觉得应该有个which/that的吧？
3、the proliferation of computer games designed to involve many players at once were first developed before the widespread availability of high-speed internet connections.这个句子的确是很有问题啦~首先我觉得【designed to··】那一part该是定从的，可是我改错了。嗯···那答案我看得也迷糊：computer games designed to involve many players at once have proliferated; such games were first developed before the widespread availability of high-speed internet connections.还是定从主语忽略问题，还有这个句子咋翻译咧？

再来一题：m5sc chap2的练习题No.6
stusents at Carver High school are encouraged to pursue only those extracurricular activities from which stems success in college applications.
红字部分改为:success in college applications stems.
改前改后都对，关键是，这个句子怎么理解？什么意思？答案解释有提到：stems=originates起源于

Computer games designed to involve many players at once have proliferated; such games were first developed before the wide spread availability of high-speed internet connections.
I have a question that why the sentense needs a ";". Whether it is OK just to use an and to connect the two sentenses.
