In theyears following an eight-cent increase in the federal tax on a pack ofcigarettes, sales of cigarettes fell ten percent. In contrast, in the yearprior to the tax increase, sales had fallen one percent. The volume ofcigarette sales is therefore strongly related to the after-tax price of a packof cigarettes.

在对每包香烟多征税8分之后，销售量下降10%，之前一年没有征税时，销售量下降1%，结论：香烟销售量与价格相关
D：在多征税这年，每包香烟的价格并没有比之前一年低8分以上。取反：在多征税这年，每包香烟的价格比之前一年低了8分以上。即意味着即使加了8分的税，价格仍较前一年低，但销量反而下降更多，说明销量与价格无关，结论不成立，所以D是正确选项。right？

晕了，我把pretax和aftertax理解成日常工资的那种税前税后了。。。pretax=tax+aftertax。。。
看半天答案没找到道，然后就没有然后了。。。
原来这里的pre和after的分界点是tax increased的时间，汗！！我表示我的阅读能力很堪忧！
