标题: 刷OG的时候发现一个问题～～
今儿在看正确句子的时候发现两个地方，比较不懂～～麻烦NN们解答一下65. Digging in sediments in northern China, scientists have gathered evidence suggesting that complex life-forms emerged much earlier than previously thought.

128. Australian embryologists have found evidence to suggest that the elephant is descended from an aquatic animal and that its truck originally evolved.

在这里两个句子的考点都不一样～～但是有个共同的结构 sb have found/gathered evidence, 我想请问evidence后面跟suggesting或者to suggest都是对的吗？？？

第二句应该是嵌入式分句的一种，比较特殊，prep2008里有提到过~看完这个再看og解释，LZ应该有新的体会~

LZ说得对，确实不是完全一样，但是我觉得有类似的地方，所以归纳到一起了~~ 单独考虑也行，LZ自己理解了就行~~ 按OG的意思，就是说两个that从句放在一起的结构不太好，所以变其中一个为to suggest。

找到ron对后一句话的理解：
gmac does seem to make a fairly concerted effort to avoid repetitions such as “x that y that z”, “x to y to z”, etc.
i've posted on this a couple of times on the forum, although i can't seem to find the threads right now. i do remember one specific case of a gmat prep problem in which the correct answer used “evidence to suggest that…” instead of “evidence that suggests that…”, presumably for the same reason; there were a couple of other examples as well.
needless to say, this sort of thing will not be explicitly tested; i.e., if it shows up, there will always be genuine errors in the choices that are meant to be wrong.

to suggest 是一个phrase又不是clause，that引导的定语怎么能做这个成分的宾语从句呢。。。如果是。。。that they suggest the elephant is。。。还有可能是嵌入式分句。我认为这个to suggest即使有目的的意思也可以解释的通，也许embryologists 们已经有这个猜测，他们现在找到了用来证明该想法的证据。
