偶的印象中contrary to 后面是加观点、信念等，一般不加人。

而且C这种表达不简洁。－－哈哈，好像是一句空话，不过偶真的是这么认为的。

确实字典的例句都是反对意见，但没有明确说明不能跟人，请继续讨论。顶一下

Contrary to放在句首的话，其作用是对后面整个主句而言的。主句中说了并列的两点：一是BMC坚持自己的观点；二是BMC获得诺贝尔奖。一可以作为对比关系出现，二不可以，Contrary to中没说BMC的同事没获得过诺贝尔奖，没法对比。

首先B违背了简洁原则：动词的被动形式convinced优于be of the conviction...这种of+名词形式。OG里面有很多类似的题目。

另外colleagues were of the conviction of ...也不符合习惯用法。要表示人有什么强烈的opinion应该用colleagues had/held the conviction...。of convictions (注意是复数）表示笼统的“有很多strong opinions”，后面也不加具体的conviction的内容。比如（Longman例句）She is a woman of strong political convictions.

这好像不能做为反对C的论据，C关键错在contrary to 用法unidiomatic并且being多余

I think “being” structure is awkward in C. For many times in OG, EST has stated that sentence often expresses more clearly.

1.最困扰我的是原来把理解be convince 成“被说服”的意思，跟原文的convinction （n.确信）含义有差别。但是查字典后发现"be convinced that"是个固定搭配，表示“确信，承认”的意思。

2.be convinced that比be of the convinction of(简洁）

3.定语从句表示状态和结果,现在分词表示动作重复,连续

I disagree. Although - Regardless of the fact that; even though.

On the other hand, although and though have subtle differeneces. As conjunctions, although and though are generally interchangeable: Although (or though) she smiled, she was angry. Although is usually placed at the beginning of its clause (as in the preceding example), whereas though may occur elsewhere and is the more common term when used to link words or phrases, as in wiser though poorer. In certain constructions, only though is acceptable: Fond though (not although) I am of sports, I'd rather not sit through another basketball game.

如果是介词短语在句首，修饰对象是主句的第一个动词，还是整个主句（两个动词都修饰）？
