(1)a time是修飾at the end of the summer的appositive,when-clause是修飾a time的限定性定語從句。
(2)a time when...and (when)...第二個when可以保留/省略。
一般如果並列兩個從句的先行詞是一樣的話,後面那個省略沒問題;如果是不一樣的話,後面的一定要保留

定從中,先行詞表示時間的話,可以用when/in which
