标题: 求教一道关于完成时的问题~！！
刚做一套princeton的模拟时遇到的，感觉答案都不对劲。。

In the 1980s junk bonds were regarded by many investors to be an ingenious way for new companies to raise capital, but in the 1990s it had come to be a symbol of the excessive risks and irresponsible trading that helped cause the recession.
(下划线怎么都复制不过来。。所以就空格代替啦，请原谅！！）

答案是D, 我原本也想选来着。因为排除了其他代词和regard to be 的错误后就剩DE
但是那个过去完成时实在是太刺眼了所以选了E, 虽然being也扎眼但是时态错的话就绝对不行啊..
所以想问问这里用过去完成时对吗？这不是表示是在过去时之前的状态和句意不符啊。
对完成时真的很头昏。。

这就是manhattan没有看仔细的结果了卤煮

仔细回想下manhattan，这就是所谓的用时态来糊弄人最tricky的题目

E选项的being必须是多余的

Also note thatthe later past event does not needto be expressed with a Simple Past tense verb.

You could justuse a date or another time reference.

Right: By 1945, the United States HAD BEEN at war for several years.
