A項，it was...that...為強調句式，it無所指。them指代的是artifacts。
B項，they指代artifacts。注意這裡不是強調句，因而it無所指是不可以的。

所以是两个单独小句子. 第一个的主语是 artifacts 谓语是 created
第二个强调句式的主语是 Western designers, artists, and crafters 谓语是 were inspired to imitate

是么~~？

理解依然不对，这句整个是个让步状语从句。
前面是Though引导的从句，主语是the artifacts of pre-Columbian civilization 谓语是created
后面的是主句，是强调句式。it 是形式主语，谓语是 was，但真正的主语是 that
Western designers, artists, and crafters were inspired to imitate them.

同意ls部份理解。
有一點不同意的是，強調句裏面的it，並非形式主語（形式主語是屬於placeholder，代替的是subject/object的位置）。
例如： It is they that have won the game.
如果把it理解為形式主語的話，就變成了“that have won the game” is they.
理解強調句的時候，只要把it be和that拿掉，讓剩下的部份變成一個完整的句子來理解
