OG 117. George Sand (Aurore Lucile Dupin) was one of the first European writers to consider the rural poor to be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these with sympathy and respect in her novels.

(A) to be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these

(B) should be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these

(C) as being legitimate subjects for literature and portraying them

(D) as if they were legitimate subjects for literature and portray them

(E) legitimate subjects for literature and to portray

答案选E我没有意见,但是有没有可能存在另一种平行: "rural poor legitimate subjects for literature "  and "portray them ...."

George Sand (Aurore Lucile Dupin) was one of the first European writers to consider the rural poor legitimate subjects for literature
and
George Sand (Aurore Lucile Dupin) was one of the first European writers to consider portraying them(rural poor) with sympathy and respect in her novels.

XX ( was one of the first to portray ...)
那么我也就可以认为George是one of the first writers to consider about this issue

如按照lz所說,consider後面是rural poor legitimate subjects for literature和portraying them平行的話,就是說是concrete noun和simple gerund之間平行。

“New theoriespropose that catastrophic impacts of asteroids and comets may have causedreversals in the Earth’s magnetic field, the onset of ice ages, splitting apart continents 80 million years ago, and greatvolcanic eruptions.”

A:  splitting apart continents
B: the splitting apart continents
C: split apart continents
D: continents split apart
E: continents that were split apart

OG: "the splitting" is a gerund, or noun form, and is properly used in this sentence; it is parallel to the other nouns.

难道是rural poor legitimate subjects for literature这个复合名词跟 "the gerund" 这种noun form 不能平行么?

如按照lz所說,consider後面是rural poor legitimate subjects for literature和po ...

New theoriespropose that catastrophic impacts of asteroids and comets may have caused reversals in the Earth’s magnetic field, the onset of ice ages, the splitting apart continents 80 million years ago, and great volcanic eruptions
而且动名词与其他名词平行时多以the v-ing或者her/his/their/its singing的形式出现。
