标题: 問一個句子結構
The airline company, following through on recent warnings that it might start reducing service, announced that it was
eliminating jet service to nine cities, closing some unneeded operations, and grounding twenty-two planes.

上面是一個正確的句子，其中我想問的是黑體的verb modifier中，劃綫部份的句子做的是什麽成份？

我嘗試用同位語的角度來解釋，但是劃綫部份意思是“航空公司可能會減少服務”，這個應該是warnings的結果，而不是warnings的內容吧。我覺得它有點像在考“so...that...”的意思，但是在that前面又沒有看到跟so相似或相近的詞。

另附一個在WASHINGTON POST新聞的句子，用法也是一樣，但是表示的感覺也不是warnings的內容，而是結果【為方便對句意理解特把上文也po上】：
As Iran’s leadership debates its negotiating stance, the squeeze of Western sanctions is becoming tighter. Nat Kern, the editor of Foreign Reports, a leading oil newsletter, forecasts that Iran will lose about a third of its oil exports by mid-summer. It may get even worse for Iran after July 1 if China and the European Union follow through on recent warnings that they might stop insuring tankers carrying Iranian crude.

同位语吧。。。
【名词+that从句】，结构上看有两种情况：
1.限制性定语从句，that在从句中作成分（主语，宾语，介词宾语,...）
2.同位语从句，that后面是一个完整的句子，that只是一个引导作用，在后面的句子里不作任何成分

但是，同位語的話不是要對前面的名詞起到解釋說明的作用嗎？
我覺得黑體字不是說warnings的內容，而是它的結果。這不算是解釋warnings吧？

that后面是对warnings的解释啊~~
是说航空公司开始履行这个warnings（其内容是要开始削减服务）

我知道問題在哪裡了，謝謝^^！

（1）follow through (with something) and follow somethingthrough——to complete an activity, doing what was promised. 【follow through的意思是履行，把...做完】
例句：I wish you would follow through with the project we talked about.You never follow through!

（2）warning（n）警告，通知

這裡warning的意思作為警告的意思是針對他人的。從同位語角度來講，句子的意思為“航空公司，執行它最近對外的警告，警告的內容是它可能開始減少服務”，然後後面就具體說它怎麼減少服務。

下面WASHINGTON POST的句子也是，表示的是CHINA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION對外宣稱的警告/通知。
