标题: OG13-127问个能不能省略and之后的介词问题···
127. Joan of Arc, a young Frenchwoman who claimed to be divinely inspired, turned the tide of English victories in her country by liberating the city of Orléans and she persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne.
(A) she persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne
(B) persuaded Charles VII of France in claiming his throne
(C) persuading that the throne be claimed by Charles VII of France
(D) persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne
(E) persuading that Charles VII of France should claim the throne

这题很明显是选了D答案，persuaded与turned平行，但是我做题的时候，有想过，会不会是, turned the tide of English victories in her country BY liberating and （BY） persuading........这样的格式？因为E有可能对？and 连接两个平行句子，如果前面有介词，后面and能不能省略？··谢谢大家

我看了一下og 的解释，上面写，here persuading is linked to liberating, but even if it were said that joan did turn the tide of english victories by persuading charles to claim the throne, a person cannot be said to persuade a clasuse..这个什么意思？

我看明白了，e说persuading 说that就像是自己persuad自己，那如果去除that会怎样？

同问Joachim Raff and Giacomo Meyerbeer are examples of the kind of composer who receives popular acclaim while living, often goes into decline after death, and never regains popularity again.这句话有没RUN ON？？？就是ofen goes 和前边are examples又没造成run on ？

去掉that后 persuading Charles VII of France should claim the throne 在语法上更错。

receives， goes ，and regains 在形式上是并列的，和are examples 完全不同，而且逻辑上也不会让人误会。

LZ谁和谁并列要看逻辑，不是靠一个介词省略而定的。。。。。。。。

OG这里的意思是persuade的宾语是人，不能是从句。。。毕竟说服的对象不可能是一个句子。。。

根據MANHATTAN所說，persuade屬於只能用infinitive的bossy verb。就是說在GMAT裏面看到persuade，只能persuade somebody to do something的結構，不可以在後面加clause。

是的，可是B和D不是一样的吗？我确实以前看过有“persuade sb in doing sth”这种用法

这句A是错误选项啊。。。
decline的主语是reputation ，不是composer；而且 regain 和 again 重复
