In the first place, the professordisagrees with the argument that the new schedule plan will accomplish the sametasks and generate higher profit for companies. He believes that the additionalhiring process, health benefits services and facilities like computers andoffices provided by the companies are much more costly than the traditionalplan is. Contrast to the conclusion of improving profit in the passage, theprofit is likely to be overcut by new working system. Secondly, regarding to the benefitof overall economy like the employment rate, the proposal may, on the contrary,have no impact on employment and even deteriorate the working load of existingemployees. As the hiring cost increases, company may expect the same number of employeesto accomplish similar goals within shorter terms to compensate the decreasedoverall working hours they choose in the new plan. The total welfare seems to be exasperatedrather than enhanced. Finally, the proposal’s mainargument that individual employee may benefit from this programme for the extratime they own to spend with their family or for other purposes could also beunrealistic. They will be the prioritised person to be fired and less likely tobe promoted as a general manager for the reason that they don’t have sufficienttime spent with the entire company. All these reasons destabilise their job anddamage their long-term happiness rather than raising it.

I believe fewpeople truly think so. Most students may spend most of their university lifeenjoying their adolescence. Therefore, why those university administrationofficers would consider the reputation of their campus only in terms of theacademic capability and facilities, but not whether their students really havegood time during the most valuable three years?
My first reason to support thefinancial support of sports and other social activities is that theseactivities, instead of studying, constitute and develop the major part of thelife of individual student. Ancient Chinese philosopher Mozi stated thatcivilisation will be less likely to thrive without the development of citizen’shealthy body. Think about the latest hundred years, it is the improvement inpeople’s health condition that allows mankind to design and invent new rule andequipment for ourselves. Without those sports facilities and activities,students may not be able to be energetic enough for long-time working, letalone to change the world. Further, the students need variousactivities like societal campaigns or forum to build up their social skillslike leadership or communication. These skills are seldom taught in theclassroom and even less likely to be found in the library book shelves. Sarcastically, the soft skills are what the studentsreally need when they get into the job market. With enough financial support,the quality and variety of these activities will be dramatically enhanced. The most essential argument is howeffective the financial support will be in the sports and activities sector,compared with the slight and gradual improvement from huge amount of investmentin library. As I worked in the students’ union and known the money needed for surveysor social activities, the fund to conduct a well-organised project is normallyless than 100 dollars. However, the basic investment for a library computerspurchase programme should be higher than 10000 dollars. The impacts created bythese two investments are far divergent. Students’ union conducts project that reallyinfluence the future lives of students like educational programme or canteenfood preference survey. On the other hand, using the money to buy computerswill benefit maybe less than 10 students. Universities are always the placesto cultivate student’s capability not only in academic area, but also in thefields of personal development. Academic related facilities are what students’needs, as we all know, but not what students’ real desires. We desire a newworld that allows us to be more creative and all-around developed.
