我对B项是这么理解的，B项说制造机器比以前用的燃料少了，而题目中的意思是使用新机器比使用旧机器消耗的能源少，应该指的是用这些机器制造东西而不是制造这些机器，这样的话，B项与内容相符程度小，不能支持。作者: xby861003 时间: 2012-11-16 21:31

题干中没有提到过manufacture the machinery 的事情，所以感觉应该是无关的吧。

没看懂题TAT。。原文说technologies powered by fossil fuels..和powered by electricity，是说需要fossil fuels或者electricity去驱动吧。。但是E选项里说的是fossil fuel是用来generate electricity的。。彻底崩溃。。作者: Hendy 时间: 2014-12-26 01:09

我对B的理解是:
B在讲生产机器用的fossil fuel的量。而stimulus讲机器消耗的fossil fuel的量。两者是不同的。
假设自己是一个决策者，要决定是否采用new技术，那么势必只会考虑机器消耗的量，就像买车考虑油耗一样。考虑采购机器也是考虑采购成本，不会根据生产用的ff量来做决策。此时应该是一个商业决策者而非环保主义者作者: saywhy 时间: 2015-7-24 13:51
题目的结论是 less fossil fuel will be used because of the operation of these industry.需要加强的不是新技术会比就技术省fuel，而应该是，采用新技术后的operation 会减少fuel 的使用量。突出的是运营过程会减少fuel 的使用。
因此 运营过程中所耗费的fuel 应该是使用机器进行生产时的耗费量（旧技术直接使用fuel，新技术直接使用electricity），而B说的是制造机器（并非使用机器）时会耗费的fuel，这与这些行业的operation过程是无关的。因此B是irrelevant的选项
