you shouldn't choose of X's on the GMAT, choose either the form of X or the form X's 这个原则，只是在逻辑含义+语法无任何问题的情况下优选使用的，而本题，如果冒然选择D，那么就会有致命伤：比较对象不对等women's absenteeism和a fifth of men，这才是考点split！作者: DUKB24 时间: 2012-11-2 22:49

曼哈顿里说的of X's，和这道题里的of X's 不是一回事。曼哈顿说的错误是指 "the apple of Amy's" 应该说Amy's apple 或者 the apple of Amy，但是这道题a fifth of men's 并不是men’s fifth的意思，是省略了absenteeism - a fifth of men's absenteeism。

这道题e的解释是：E. The placement of only in this wordy sentence illogically asserts that women's absenteeism was a fifth of men's absenteeism and probably additional fractions (other than a fifth) of other kinds of absenteeism.
