以前的讨论没人对A答案提出异议.

但我想问C,因为A,B中as ... as后确实找不到economy对应的代词,而C中可以看出是代词省略了,而且我在google上发现了一大堆have been previously 的用法,证明时态没问题.只是have应该改成has.

我觉得这一题只能够用排除法去做.另外,我想问是否可以这样改:

claims suggest that the economy might not be as weak as previously thought to be by some analysts.

因为我在lzm的语法里面看到过关于as .. as thought, anticipated, estimated这些词汇的省略用法

感觉这样改可以,但看不出to be字样有什么必要.

google搜索出来的例子很多是错的，不能说明什么。毕竟gmat考的是标准书面语。

Not as ...as 是可以的

not so...as只能用语否定句，但并不代表not as.. as不能用语否定句

答案是A.C不符合平行对称，谓语动词用复数也没有问题

claims是一个固定用法

unemployment claims指因失业而提出“某人已失业，请求失业救济”，是一种失业救济程序。而new home sales也是一个固定表达，与existing home sales相对应，应该是指新产生的家庭，比如新婚家庭。

全句大意是说，新家庭消费量的上升和周失业救济申请的下降表明经济并没有原来预测的那么糟"

reply to the floor 4, follow the rule of the active is always in higher priority than passive, we can delete choice C from A and C.
