each is the subject ( rare use of each)
the non-underlined portion has a pronoun it
so whatever answers containing all should be eliminated , because the use of all will leave it without any antecedent
the use of with is problematic here
if you construed some as referring to colonies
that doesn't make sense, colonies cannot have themselves ( you should understand this meaning very literally)
if you construed some as referring to unknown plurals
