我觉得是没有问题的，因为LZ给的例子...would have to know a a great deal more than THEY DO NOW...是由于前后比较的内容其时态发生变法，必须补出主谓结构。。。而且这道题省略并没有任何歧义啊，因为for的出现，很明确了是宾语+介词的比较，不会引起歧义比较，即使前面半部分是省略的。。。。。。

lz觉得，比较结构是GMAT SC的一个难点，LZ在做题时老是犯错。。。现在又要向大家求教了~~
看了很多题和解析后，我觉得，比较结构中状语的比较，大多数是把主语和位于省略的情况。
In no other historical sighting did Halley’s comet cause such a worldwide sensation as
in its return of 1910-1911不过省略主谓需要一个前提，就是，than后面的状语结构，必须在前文已经出现过，虽然形式上不一定相同，不过状语表达的含义一定是有可比性的，或者说是同类的

in the coming year should boost new construction dollars by several billion dollars, making the construction industry’s economic health much more robust than it was
five years ago
下面这个句子，就是因为than前面没有出现相似的状语结构，必须把主谓补上
