Possible long-term consequences of the “greenhouse effect,” the gradual warming of the Earth’s climate, may include melting the polar ice caps and a rising sea level.
我有同样的疑惑, 为什么melting is a adj. it can't be used as a noun.
possible and may是否存在redundant?????
26. Of all the possible disasters that threaten American agriculture, the possibility of an adverse change in climate is maybe the more difficult for analysis.
(A) is maybe the more difficult for analysis
(B) is probably the most difficult to analyze (B)
(C) is maybe the most difficult for analysis
(D) is probably the more difficult to analyze
(E) is, it may be, the analysis that is most difficult
E. include melting of the polar ice caps and a rise in sea level
Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English |
所以E里面的melting and a rise是可以并列的, 而且不用加定冠词the表示泛指
E-C Medicine Dictionary |
第一项the melting of polar ice caps的核心词语是the melting, 后面the rising sea level由于少了介词所以中心词变成sea level, 试问the melting and the sea level可以并列吗?
但我仿佛记得,OG上有一题,是要求把动名词前面加定冠词的,加了定冠词,动名词的名词性质才比较明显........= =;
