关于OG上的解释，我查看了一些帖子之后，有了一个总结并且加上了自己的想法，但不知道对不对，请NN们指正~~~
B：confidence的用法有：1）confidence to do sth表示有信心做某事 ;2)confidence in sb表示对某人有信心。在表示“对某人做某事有信心”时应该用从句，而不应该把上面两个词组夹杂（注意confidence to do sth 的发出者是confidence的主语）；另外，语义上应该是对avoid the recession..这件事有信心，而不是局限在economy本身上。所以the economy to avoid the recession用法不好；
rather在单用时只能表示“fairly or to some degree”，只有在rather than,would rather...than..,not..but rather..等词组里才表示“不是..."的概念，所以这里不对
但是，我有两个问题：1）OG上说what不能代替that,但是这里可不可以理解为what引导的同位语？2）不考虑confidence in sb to do sth这个词组本身不好的问题，把rather to改成but to或者rather than可以吗？

C：OG13在91题上对D的解答上说明，“，and"后面必须有自己的主谓，所以C中instead to come 没有完整的一句话。同理D选项。

不知道上面这样理解到底对不对？望NN们解答~~~

我也对这道题疑惑过，不过今天我再看时发现A越看越顺眼，因为从语义看它最合适
另外
我想说~~~你应该理解错意思了吧
原文应该是想说，从复苏的股市可以反映出人们增长的信心是因为经济将不会倒退（这个原本被担心会倒退的经济现象最终实现了软着陆）
我觉得如果用rather的话是不是改变了原句的意思啊~~~

因为过去完成时表达的是一个动作到过去的某一时间点结束
to some degree, 他和现在完成时的区别在于这个时间点是过去or现在
而这里有一很明晰的earlier this year,即，这个时间点是过去
所以用过去完成时木有问题

俺是这么理解哒，供参考~

这里that引导定语从句，在从句中做宾语，不可以省略吗？

不过c的确很古怪。

那么假如，A把recession后面的that去掉可以吗？

另外A中的instead不太理解，
will avoid 和come 应该不是对比关系，
而instead表达的是＂反而＂的意思，语义不是很奇怪吗？

的确earlier this year是过去的时间点，但是怎么能看出来此处表达的是从过去到过去某时间点结束呢？
既然处在过去时间点，为什么不用一般过去式？

我认为 early in this year 是过去时。但是earlier 是有个时间比较的含义，过去的过去，应该用完成时。之前做OG12的时候新东方的老师有讲的。

省略了会有歧义。可能造成many were fearing和 rather tocome的平行。

我实在没搞明白为什么会有歧义说were fearing和rather to come平行。
如果是这个逻辑的话，那A不是也可以说had feared也会有跟instead to come平行的歧义了？

重新读了曼哈顿，个人观点问题还是在recession前面的that。

曼哈顿在Modifier那一章说：限定性从句：the+n是无区别的物体，后面必须加that clause做限定性从句，此时that不可省！！！！！！除非是this recession，说明读者和作者已共同认可了是某个上文说的recession，才可以不用限定性从句。

因此D立马就被排除了。。。

可我还是没太理解D的OG解释说： rather to come does not complete the second part of the sentence idiomatically.

虽然弄明白了recession后面必须加that所以这个题D错了。求版主指教。

明白了！谢谢。终究还是and前面有了逗号，come那个部分必须得是句子才语法正确呀。

只讨论一下and前后的平行和句子完整问题～其他问题先不讨论哦

根据您的说法，既然c在这个点上是对的，那为什么d中“and rather  to come”就是错的。。它跟c的区别只是把instead换成了rather，这样就影响了句子完整性吗？
跪求解答！！！已经快疯了！！！！

啊看懂了！是因为, and后面必须是完整句子，单单的rather to come不能作完整句子，一定要与前文连在一起吗？

但C里的and instead to come 有连在一起呀，还是被OG说not complete…求指点！

C 和 D 都是，and instead/rather. 这里，and 有两种用法：
1）是作平行并列.....apples, oranges, and pears.
2）两个主句 i like apples, and she likes grapes.
这里 c,d 都没有上述两种情况，og 解释 rather/instead to come does not complete the second part of the sentence idiomatically, 估计也是这个意思
