从语法角度来讲, 形容词修饰名词, 用名词修饰名词不合理. 虽然我在日常生活中看到过这样的例子, 但OG上还没有, 有可能我看得不够细, 若有发现记得告诉我. 所以population changes不规范, changes in population才是正确的表达.
OG里有一题极其相似

抛开用wolf与density搭配, 而不是density与population搭配这个错误, CE都用了wolf density(名词修饰名词)这个表达, 而ABD用的是the density of the wolf population. 不知楼上有没有领会我的意思. ETS给我们的判断是多方面的, 也就是说错误的选项若与正确选项有出入的地方, 多半(不绝对, 有反例子)那种表达就不好. 所以名词修饰名词不优选.

真不好意思，我可能太轴了，我就是觉得populations不对，才放弃选项的，请哪位大虾指点一下吧，为什么这里要加s,而且别的选项里的population都没有s？

是species的populations,所以有－s，每一个specie都有一个population,譬如后面的songbird的population是180。
