    划线部分是完整句，谓语approximate，推测本题考主语从句。从句前面需要连接词，完整句前面应该是连接副词，比如how。how前面如果再加成分只能是动词结构，把how带的从句作为动词结构的宾语。至于这个动词结构应该是谓语动词还是非谓语取决于在它之前还有没有其他成分。如有连接词、逻辑主语，用谓语动词；无则只能是非谓语动词，即分词/不定式。


    A Determining how closely  


    非谓语动词加连接副词带的逻辑宾语从句，组成完整主语，接后面谓语is和表语部分。正确


    B How closely to determine


    how带不定式，后面动词approximate也只能是不定式，主语从句有连接词没有谓语。不考虑语法只看句意也应该是to determine how closely 。


    C How one determines close


    从句双谓语，determines和approximate两动词之间没有连接词。


    D One is close to determining


    从句没有连接词


    第二题基本跟第一题一样思路，主要弄清楚什么成分能作主语。

    第三题介词短语作同位语，答案错了
