manhattan 4th: In each case, the subject I makes sense: I was whistling "Beat It, " I was concentrating, I wanted to free my leg. Make sure that these modifiers have a sensible subject in the sentence. Wrong:The weight was lifted by concentrating. Wrong:The weight was lifted to free my leg.
