Question:
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
People benefit more from traveling in their own country than from traveling to foreign countries.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer
People always say that there is no view in places you are familiar with, thus most of them would like to rush to foreign countries, experience exotic culture and purchase a lot of souvenirs that they probably will lock them up once they get back home. However, I agree with the claim that people benefit more from traveling in their own country rather than to foreign countries in several aspects.
Firstly, I concede that people are often fascinated by the idea of traveling abroad. They always fancy that the unique experience they will go through, bunch of new fabulous foreign friends they will meet, and numerous pictures they will take in front of a woldly-known spots like Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall, the Statue of Liberty etc. However, when those scenarios turned into reality, we usually see travelers are squeezed and packed into a group by travel agency, and these not-fancy-trip would usually cost a fortune and also, a happy mood from the beginning. After that we realize it is not such a good idea to travel to a foreign country if we don't know the local language and culture well.
On the other hand, traveling in our own country seems much easier and be more economic compared to the travel to foreign countries. Based on the fluency in language, we are free to look for relevant information such as the local accommodations, the decent food there and comments of travelers who have been to there. After we do those homework, we can easily plan our schedule about where to go and how long to stay at each of interesting places, in this way not only can we have a really fantastic trip as we dream of but also can improve the ability to gather information and make trip plans.
Furthermore, traveling in our own country helps us know better and deeper about our own culture's diversity. Take China for instance, China
is a large country not only in the aspect of geographic territory, but also in culture. There are 56 different ethnics living in China, and each ethnic has their own unique culture and custom. When I was a child, I traveled to the southern China with my parents and we met some friends of Yi ethnics. Through some chatting, we know that they are a group of people who favors dancing and singing and are proud of showing their talents to guests. At last, we were lucky to watch a fire dance performed by those people and I was so impressed by their friendliness and hospitality. When I got back home, I felt I was more attached to my country and so proud of being a child of her.
To sum up, traveling to foreign countries do have some benefits such as broadening one's horizons and fulfill one's life experience. But I still hold the opinion that we would acquire more from traveling in our own country for reasons listed above.
自我总结一下,
看了CD里的好T友们的作文,发现大家的用语都较规范,我的作文显得挺口语化的。
段与段之间的逻辑也不太严谨,是因为没有列提纲的问题吗?
求路过的大牛们指教。

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Question:Television advertising directed toward young children (aged two to five) should not be allowed.
Companies use television advertising to promote their goods and attract more customers by having a entertainment star or social celebrities to speak for them on television. We adults are able to distinguish those lies and hyperboles television ads usually ultilize, and make a purchase intellectually. However, for kids aged two to five, is it legitimate to have TV ads directly aiming at them? It is a perplexing problem we should consider all the parties involved--companies, young children and their parents.
Television advertising is a dominant strategy corporations may use to attract young children. Kids under five haven't complete their recognitive process, nor access to the information on newspaper and internet. For most of them, TV seems to be dominant way to connect with the outside world. They enjoy wathing the TV program and worship the good characters in it. When children are given the right to choose goods for themselves, they usually choose those related to their favorite cartoon character. Therefore, companies produce toys, kid food, clothes, or anything whose perceived customer are kids wants to take advantage of this scenario. They will have popular cartoon character speak for their goods or create a charater have welcomed characteristics children admire.
Companies contrive ads aiming at kids, which is not supposed to be blamed. Do we blame a shampoo company who have Julie Pitt to ad for them on television?
However, on this issue, we should see the particularity of those customers--young children. Childrem under five have weak ability to distinguish fancy from reality. When I was a child, I thought the barbie in the television ads are like real persons. They can talk, dance, and read. So when I got a barbie as a gift I spent all day with her, and taught her what I've learned form classes. Because I saw the little girl in the television did the same thing to her barbie, and her barbie did reponse back to her in the advertising. Years later, while I laugh at how naive I used to be, it occurs to me that how badly the television advertising mislead young children.
So is it reasonable to ban television advertising aimed at young children because of the misunderstanding it may cause?
I'd say it is not neccessary since we have the third party involved in this issue--parents. Parents are responsible for preventing children from being obssessed in television advertising, and thus helping them distinguish good and evil, beauty and ugly, fancy and reality. When children are conpriciously asking for a toy in television, parents have every right to say no to them and most importantly explain the reason why the toy is not like the ads demonstrate. Only in this way can parents prevent children from being fooled by ads in television, and gradually help children establish a understanding of the function of television advertising.
Under the guidance of well-educated parents, children are welcomed to enjoy their TV programs including television advertising. And television advertising can surely keep its way to attract their customers. No harm is generated.
写完直接ctrl+v了,可能有些typo望见谅。
目前对托福写作感到极度迷惑啊,之前考G的惯性思维是正+反+合or散。
貌似托福作文更倾向于一边倒然后elaborate?还望前辈们指教...

TPO 6:
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Life today is easier and more comfortable than it was when your grandparents were children.
Yes, I agree that the life of our generation is much easier and more comfortable in terms of material entertainment, compared to what our grandparents have been through when they are at our age. However, we should always admire the virtues of persistence and optimism demonstrated in their tough days, and let them become a part of our life style.
Life quality is totally different from our grandparents' days with a number of advanced technological inventions coming up. My grandparent told me that light bulb and electricity in their days are luxuries; they were usually doing homework or some housework in the light of candle back to days when they were young. The best relaxing entertainment after a worn day is to swim in a stream flowing in the front of their yard, sometimes when luck comes they can find some river crabs to cook for eating. I doubt whether I can live the tough but natural life without electricity and entertainment TV program to watch. I even cannot picture out a day without internet.
For our generation, “it was the best of times; it was the worst of times.” Every day we are waken up by the ringing of alarm clock, then take a comfortable shower thanks to electric water heater. Before we drag out the refrigerator’s door, crispy bread is just popped out from a toaster, with tempting smell. Through the introduction of our daily start, we definitely could not deny that we are living a gorgeous and advanced life with higher quality. However, why we are not satisfied by the delicate life and feel nothing but callous in the forest of skyscrapers? The answer is not hard to find.
We are the generation spoiled by convenient technology. With helpful modern technology, we lead a convenient life relying on it and are so used to it. However sometimes it violet our independence and dominate our mood in an unconscious way. If the air conditioner breaks down in a muggy summer, we would easily get angry and violent to others; but we never consider at this moment how our parents or grandparents could live with it back in their days. The austerity and toughness of their life trained them into persons with persistence and being optimistic about obstacles confronting.
Learning from their virtues presented during though days, we should always hold an optimistic attitude about difficulties coming up in our life. Only in this way can we live a truly better life with high quality based on all advanced facilities.
