标题: there be句型求解~
there is/are a young man and an old woman at the bus stop.是is还是are呀？我记得以前老师教的是就近原则，今天百度了下，也是这样。可是曼哈顿笔记上却是are顿时凌乱了，难道我买的是盗版？？~

应该是are的，there be句型在结构上其实是个倒装。

when two nouns are connected by" and". (it is a compound object and should be considered plural)


here,there is a dummy subject (a young man and an old woman are there at the bus stop)

一般来讲duke是对的

但是也有例外，还是要看语义 例如OG 12-82    According to a recent poll,  owning and living in a freestanding house on its own land  is still a goal of a majority of young adults, as it was of earlier generations.

这里就是 动名词owning and living 做compound主语， 但是表示单数， 因为owning and living 被看成一个整体。 宾语 a goal 也证明了它是一个整体。


回LZ
一个句子里面一定有主语和谓语。
因此 其实看主谓单复数， 首先你要找到verb先，  再找这个verb 前面找 subject， 有合适的subject 就根据主语单复数判断谓语动词的单复数.

假如verb 前面没有合适的subject话，你只能向verb 后面的名词找。一般来说被倒装了。
