标题: 求助OG13 几道题目，SC15

15，Many experts regarded the large increase in credit card borrowing in March not as a sign that households were pressed for cash and forced to borrow, rather a sign of confidence by households that they could safely handle new debt.

OG说了三个点
1， A，The placementof the restrictive
clause that they couldsafely handle new debt
after households could also cause confusion. 是that从句会导致迷惑？？？？
2，B，it的不定式是改变了原来的意思？
3，A,C的by 的位置导致confidence的不清楚表达
为什么？求解释下！

考点是Not。。。but, 及平行结构，前面是not as。。。that，后面跟but as。。。that故选择d。容易造成混淆的是C，by结构冗余。

A. that引导的modifier，在结构上modify的是离的最近的households；但是在语义上modify的应该是confidence. 结构不符合语意就是错的。想要二者统一，that引导的modifier应该放在confidence后面，所以OG说that的位置引起了confusion。

B. it在这里不是不定式，是placeholder，为了避免头重脚轻而存在的，it代替的是to do sth。分析句子里的代词them，them指代的是谁？从结构上就近原则应该是households' confidence里的confidence，因为households放在所有格结构中是不能做被指代对象的。从句意上看则应该是household，household才是动作的发出者。和A一样，结构不符合句意，是错的。

A C里面的by，我个人认为应该是没有表现出 households 和 confidence 之间的从属关系。

不过这个题目考察的知识点是平行，idiom，看完题干后要寻找not as but as 结构，只有D有，所以D是正确的。

那A项的“that they...”中的they存在指代歧义吗？

不存在,前面的句意都是完整的

我觉得A中的that应该修饰sign吧？

对，我当时写错了，从语意上看that从句修饰的应该是sign，也就是正确答案D里写的那样
