Key

我选的B，觉得proclaiming 可以是做伴随状语。
D选项中的for 是介词，那怎么引导一个从句啊~~~

建议LZ看一下曼哈顿语法书，名词所有格形式，无生命的所有格's不如of的形式好。
for这里做连词，表示因果，和because的意思差不多。这个月的GMAT考试我也碰到这个连词的用法。

建议楼主看一下Manhattan语法书。
proclaiming为修饰语，一般要有靠近原则，即靠近其修饰的成分，显然不应是Geek world。

B还一个重大错误是 festival's month
Manhattan 第11章有这么一句话：
Whenever you have a time period, quantity, or other measurement as the first word, keep the prepositional phrase with “of”
即时间或数量类的词有修饰成分时要保留其of结构，否则会有歧义。

for除了介词，还可是连词，词典查一下就看到了。
