1. 419 In the traditional Japanese household, most clothing could be packed flatly, and so it was not necessary to have elaborate closet facilities.

(A) flatly, and so it was not necessary to have elaborate closet facilities

(B) flat, and so elaborate closet facilities were unnecessary

(D) flat, there being no necessity for elaborate closet facilities（B）

(E) flatly, as no elaborate closet facilities were necessary

这道题为什么选B啊？用flatly不对吗？Ｅ是不是错在添加了一个从句呢？能否解释下Ｂ的结构和句子意思啊，看不太明白啊，谢谢

这句话是被动，换成主动的句式看会明白一些.

pack the clothing flat, clothing是宾语, flat是宾补, 修饰宾语, 不是动词谓语pack.

"pack flat" sounds weird.

flat作副词是平坦地

flatly是直截了当地

从意思看应该用flat

我倒是觉得 "and so"这个用法比较古怪为什么不直接 “so"呢
