对A中confidence by households， og的讲解是  the preposition by  does not express the idea that households are confident.....
为什么啊？小厮不懂，求教求教！

还有D选项中  households were confident they could       confident 后面没有 that 也可以么?

对A中confidence by households， og的讲解是  the preposition by  does not express the idea that households are confident.....

还有D选项中  households were confident they could       confident 后面没有 that 也可以么?

A：可以先问问自己介词by是什么意思，然后就能明白OG说的意思了。
by[ba?]
adv.  经过; 在旁边; 过去; 在一边

prep.  被, 由; 经由; 靠, 通过, 用; 沿#经过; 在旁边; 过去; 在一边#保存者



可以很明白地看出来，confidence by sb.并不能够表达出合理的意思，更不能表达出sb. is confident或者sb. has confidence的意思。
于是，by的用法就是不对了，这是从语义的角度考虑的。

另外，sb. is confident或者sb. has confidence这两个意思表达中，相对来讲GMAT倾向前者。



D：省略that是完全可以的。但是这种语法现象就什么还不知道。之前我也问过，虽然不知道名字，但是确实是对的。

另外，你可以试着把that加上再读读这个句子，很别扭。

其实，我自己的感觉是，这里的that省略很像宾语从句中的that省略。印象中好像有个“动词性形容词”的东西。这点你就是听听就罢了。

其实要是仅仅为做这一题方法和知识点都是很简单的，1.not……but  2.could 比ability to 更有效 3.你在看其他选项不是啰嗦就是不合逻辑。其实很多题都可以从平行，一致性，有效性入手，只有到了很难的题才分析节奏感的问题。

我也好想在哪看过这个结构。好像是prep是里面题目。
D这个句子是不是双宾语D.but as a sign that households were confident they could safely  ？
求牛牛分析下D这个句子结构。
