According to a survey of graduating medical students conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges, minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than are other graduates in planning to practice in socioeconomically deprived areas.

A. minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than are other graduates in planning to practice

B. minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than other graduates who plan on practicing

C. minority graduates are nearly four times as likely as other graduates to plan on practicing

D. it is nearly four times more likely that minority graduates rather than other graduates will plan to practice

E. it is nearly four times as likely for minority graduates than other graduates to plan to practice

1) Girls were four times more likely than boys to self harm

2) Boys are four times more likely to develop autism than girls.

3) Men under the age of 44 with low incomes were at least four times more likely to
develop brain cancer than those not classified as having low income.

4) Compulsory admissions are four times more likely amongst Black patients than White
patients

5) People who begin drinking before the age of 15 are four times more likely to develop alcohol dependence than those

而且我在网上没有看到as likely as 的说法,我记得只有as many as的说法。

请问一下选A的朋友,minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than are other graduates in planning to practice

Female smokers are twice as likely as male smokers to develop lung cancer, regardless of age or years .....

Minority staff (23.8%) are nearly four times more likely than are Majority
staff (6.7%) to perceive the climate as Unwelcoming.

而A中的ARE是应该补出的, 觉得不好的地方在IN PLANING TO PRACTICE,没有 ARE IN PLANNING TO PRACTICE的说法

agree, see

9.     Studies show that young people with higher-than-average blood pressure and their families have a history of high blood pressure are more likely than others to develop a severe form of the condition.

(A) and their families have a history of high blood pressure

(B) whose families have a history of high blood pressure

(C) and a history of high blood pressure runs in the family

(D) whose families have a history of high blood pressure running in themB

(E) with a history of high blood pressure running in their family

in this question, "are" is not repeated for "others"

well, using google, we can find 213,000 webpages containing "four times as many".

Here is one example:
Black women are almost four times as likely as white women
to have an abortion, and Hispanic women are 2.5 times as likely

Again, the point in this question is the idoim "be likely to do" instead of "be likely in doing"

A中是are不好,in doing不好

不過根據be likely to do,我還是傾向于C,雖然當初作的時候選了A。。。。

C is the better answer I think

Be likely to do is idiom rather than be likely in doing
