the answer is b,i wander why not choose d.

因为未划线部分有church membership is...，这样造成两个独立的句子之间没有连词。

这道语法题目是《新东方语法精解》中的，在我印象中逗号应该连接两个句子，如果选b，那coming from conversions rather than increases in the population做two-thirds of the growth 的后置定语，一个名词短语怎么能和句子并列？不明白，您能否再给我解释解释，我怀疑这道题目有问题，呵呵
