答案为B，我的问题是B是否应为

supporting the theory that global forest fires were ignited by a meteorite impact,因为后面by a meteorite impact明显提示要用被动语态

这个were不可以加，因为ignited by a meteorite impact是去过分词做后置定语修饰global forest fires的，而该that从句的谓语是contributed to。

如果加上were，那么该从句就有两个谓语了。

重要的是谁修饰谁，弄清逻辑关系即可：

supporting 修饰evidence, the theory后面的that为同位语修饰；

ignited作分词修饰fire，contribute为that从句的谓语；
