标题: Double Major, Applied Math+Finance or Applied Math+Accounting? 求大牛指教┭┮﹏┭┮
我是大一新生，新加坡某大学applied math专业。

现在有double major in management的机会，共六个分支，Accounting, Decision science, finance, management & organisation (including HRM unit, Marketing, Strategy & Policy)

我主要在finance和accounting之间摇摆不定，请问这两个在以后的职业发展道路上有什么不同，各有什么利弊？？如果牛牛觉得其他的分支更好，也请告知，谢谢~

其实我们专业还木有最后确定，applied math和statistics比较呢？别人告诉我applied math更倾向于向finance发展，而statistics更倾向于向econ发展……

另外，我们大二有进Quantity Finance的机会，工作好找，起薪高，但是以后读graduate比较难。。。。

求各位大神们指点，谢谢啦！！

You are studying math now, so accounting does not help too much for your career as accounting does not need deep mathematics knowledge. Finance is much better and can give you a clear career path. Many of the math students in UK and US are looking for jobs as quant or quant developer in banks. As far as I know, many of the head of quant in London banks are Chinese - they usually hold a PHD degree in either engineer or math.
So if I were you, I would select finance.

1，根据我的了解，quant似乎需要建立model等等，所以需要computing和stats方面的知识对么？我个人很不喜欢computing，所以连带着觉得quant并不适合我。除了quant以外，还有什么是比较适合major in appleid math的么？

2，似乎有些大学的applied math就有accounting方向，所以我一直以为这两者关联还挺大的，现在看来我想当然了~>_<

3，我们大二有进quantity finance的机会~但是据说career path就被限制住了，一般是本科毕业就工作，master也只能念quantity finance，并且没有ph.D~求问这个专业对于以后从事金融方面的工作有利么？

Possible career path:

1) Math + Finance -> Quant in pricing or risk in investment bank -> Head of Quant
2) Math + accounting + certificate -> Account, - > Controller or manage account-> CFO

Usually, how many years does a guy need to get certificate after graduating from university?
In addition, I've heard that usually a Quant must have PhD degree, right?

BTW, is there any other choice that I can choose? 'coz I am not good at programming and I do not want to be a Qaunt...
