标题: 求助~~earlier in the year时态问题

According to some analysts, the gains in the stock market reflect growing confidence that the

economy will avoid the recession that many had feared earlier in the year and instead come in for

a "soft landing" followed by gradual increase in the business activity.

A. that the economy will avoid the recession that many had feared earlier in the year and instead

come

B. in the economy to avoid the recession , what many feared earlier in the year, rather to come

C. in the economy's ability to avoid the recession, something earlier in the year many had feared,

and instead to come`

D. in the economy to avoid the recession many were fearing earlier in the year, and rather to

come

E. that the economy will avoid the recession that was feared earlier this year by many with it

我一直都不明白，为什么that many had feared earlier in the year 这里要用过去完成时，
看到有人说，in the year用现在完成时，earlier in the year用过去完成时，那这里到底是个什么意思~~我的时态超烂~~肿么办啊啊啊~~

"the last year可以搭配完成时，也可以搭配现在时，last year用过去时。"
找遍了比较靠谱的解释，只找到了上面那句话，但是好像还解决不了问题，简单参考一下吧，看有没有什么启发。

还有，就是其实考试时基本上都可以不用时态做出题目的。

这个题就是因为这个时态，我一眼就把A选项排除了，然后选了D~~~

用时态只是当然可以，但是更多时候的时态错误并不是绝对错误，而是相对的，我们起初能杀掉的选项必须是含有绝对错误的选项哦~
我也犯过这样策略上的错误。。。

the gains in the stock market发生在过去。而fear发生在the gains in the stock market的过去。所以就是过去完成啊，表示在the gains in the stock market的前面，过去的过去的意思。
