第一题怎么解析，有什么一剑封喉的解法？
第二道比较前没有in,比较后怎么出现了in?

第二题，比较 的是last year ,in other year ，时间状语的比较， 你不能从形式来看，而就从意思上。

这是两道很好的考查“修饰语”与“平行结构的题。（个人觉得，这两部分的内容涵盖了GMAT语法的绝大部分内容。）

谈谈偶的一点想法，大牛们来批评：

第一题，关键要看相比较的两个对象形式是否对称。
本题比较的对象是views of France's Socialist president 与views of his predecessor.依据这一点，可以排除B与C。
D与E项的这种修饰结构：France's Socialist president's views 是不严谨，有歧义的。因为France's可以修饰Socialist president's ，也可以修饰vies.依据这一点可以排除这两项。

第二题：The rate of increase 。。。。。and the rate of increase for Black，本题应该符合平行结构的要求。所以可入选的只有A与C项。
C项的nationwide 位置不对，按照句意，它应该修饰Black elected officiales，借此可排除c项。

如果一定从比较出发来突破的话，我的感觉是：
1、比较对象是the views of France's Socialist president和the views of his predecessor; 比的是哪个are more compatible with views of President Reagan's，，选项是否具有可比性; 比程度. 确定了这些后再比较选项。B中的SEEM同THAN后的WERE根本不一致。C改变了句子意思，不知道怎么比了。D、E还是比较对象变了。所以搞清谁和谁比最重要。
2、比较对象是The rate of increase ... last year 和 The rate of increase ... any other year，其实不管是在比较后面加个in , of, 或者什么其他的东东，只要表明的是那些年的东东就可以了，比较对象就对等了，所以只有A、B表达了这个意思。其他全部都是the rate of ...在同any other year比，根本就没法比。在A和B间的选择就是另外一层的句子意思的理解了。似乎不是很费劲。

第二题：比较对象是year。即：比较是在last year和any other year两个状语之间展开的。last year是副词，前面不可有介词；any other year是名词，为了变成状语与last year对等，前面需要加介词。

如果逐句中用的不是last year，而是in 1977之类的时间壮语，本题就没有任何困惑了。

至于说为什么A前后没用一样所有格，我个人认为可能是因为作者tend to avoid duplication of the same form in one sentence.

我觉得lyricling分析得很有道理。。关键是要有切入点。

补充2题我的思路：
any other year前面应该加IN，排除CDE
the increased rate和 rate of increase意思是不一样的。
而且，the increased rate后面跟的介词应该是of 而不是in  即, rate of....

第二个题目是比较中的一个好题，比较必须满足一个基本的原则就是概念对等。last year 和in .....都是句子的时间状语。至于比较中的形式一致它的优先级是低于概念对等，其实（1）就是一个很好的例子，说明形式一致的好处。这两个题目真的非常好.

1、专有名词，如人名后一般只用所有格，而不用of(除非
双重所有格)
试比较：my brother Frank's friend
             the friend of my brother Frank's
如果是 the friend of my brother Frank 就不对了;

2、句子前面已经有了There seems...了，后面又出现一个seem，典型的重复性累赘；
