问题是为什么正确选项里第一个谓语是began呢，应该是被开始吧？还有一个问题，我记得一个主语有两个谓语的时候应该是S V1 AND V2，and之前应该没有逗号啊，可是这个正确选项里却是S V1，AND V2求解释

GMAT语法尽量避免出现被动，所以像construction当作为一个项目来说的时候，优先考虑主动态。中文也会说，该项目开始于，不会说该项目被开始于。

第二个动词前的逗号是和前一个逗号成对出现，表达during xxx period是插入语。和第二个动词没有关系。

我有个问题：
比如这种 the constructions began in1987 and was completed in 1988. 为什么began前面不用be动词啊？只是因为被动不好么？那么为什么不干脆把completed前面的be动词也删了？我的问题是哪些动词可以主语直接加动词这么用，哪些动词就要有个be动词呢？

翻译一下就知道了啊，开始于。。。被完成于。。。句子最重要的是语义，读句子的时候翻译着走比较好
