d 为什么不可以呢？after也可以做介词啊，

D 的exhaust的主词看起来是fund 不合逻辑且改变原意

同意！我的看法是当分词出现的时候就要寻找它的逻辑主语。在这个句子里面，exhausting的逻辑主语首先可能是fund，其次可能是Alaska。有歧义。
